Chairman's Message

Dr. Suen Chor Keung, Alexis
Chairman

PRO-FIT INDUSTRIAL CO., LTD.
Director

Established on 15 December 1994, The Hong Kong Metals Manufacturers Association has entered its thirty-second year. Thanks to the love and support of all Committee and Association members, I felt deeply honoured to continue serving as the Chairman of the 16th Executive Committee. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the members of the 15th Executive Committee for their continued recognition and unwavering support of my services to the Association, which enabled the smooth implementation of all services and organization of all activities during the 15th term.

I would also like to express my special thanks to the Association's former leaders and advisors for their guidance and enthusiastic support, which has enabled the Association to flourish. Among them, nine Vice Chairmen have led nine of our departments to achieve remarkable results in planning and implementing various activities, which have received positive feedback and recognition. One of the representing examples has been the overseas business promotion activities subsidized by the Hong Kong Government's TSF scheme, including the Hannover Messe Manufacturing Industry Trade Fair held in Germany in April 2025 and METALEX held in Thailand in November 2025. We have also strengthened the exchange and sharing of technical, political and economic information both overseas and Mainland. Focusing on membership development, we feel very delighted to have welcomed over 20 companies as members in 15th term. We have also achieved significant results in areas such as social services as well as student and youth development.

During my coming two-year term, I will continue to lead my team mates in the 16th Executive Committee in serving the Association. We will organize various activities to expand our Mainland and overseas business, focusing on developing markets along the Belt and Road countries. Through communication and exchanging ideas with relevant government departments in Hong Kong and Mainland, Executive committee members can reflect the needs of the industry. Through insights of member and industry exchange programs, leveraging AI, R&D, manufacturing and management to create "New Quality Productive Forces".

Today, traditional business and consumption models have undergone profound changes following the pandemic. Facing geopolitical as well as internal and external challenges, Mainland's manufacturing competitiveness has been significantly weakened. In such a shrinking and sluggish market, business models must incorporate product innovation, modernization, automation and intelligence to cope with global political and economic challenges. The industry must leverage resources from Mainland and overseas to identify new opportunities for Hong Kong's manufacturing industry. Mainland and Hong Kong governments have been actively promoting Hong Kong’s connectivity with the Greater Bay Area, leveraging the strengths of both parties to create opportunities for the industry.

The Association has also continued to show our care by providing services to vulnerable groups in need. Members and their families, especially the youth, have contributed to social services in their communities, to cultivate from a young age the values of cherishing, respecting and caring for others. Inheriting the legacy of the new generation is a major area of concern of the Association, and this year, the Committee has welcomed many young elites to join it. Upholding the spirit of mentorship, the Association will pass on its legacy from generation to generation.

I hope that the new Executive Committee will work together with unity to forge a new chapter for the Association.

In the years ahead, let us all look forward to the continued development of the Association and the even greater contributions it will make to the economic prosperity of Hong Kong and Mainland China.

Thank you all.

Let's work together to achieve greatness with the enduring spirit of metal manufacturers.
