Chairman's Message
Dr. Suen Chor Keung, Alexis
Chairman
PRO-FIT INDUSTRIAL CO., LTD.
Director
Thanks to the love and support of all the Executive
Committee members of the Hong Kong Metals
Manufacturers Association, I am honored to be elected
as the Chairman the 15th Executive Committee. I
am sincerely grateful to all members of the previous
Executive Committees for their recognition and support
of my services in the Association.
I would like to express my gratitude to all
Permanent Honorary Chairmen, Permanent Honorable
Chairmen, Honorable Chairmen, Honorary Chairmen,
current Honorary Chairmen and consultants of the
Association for their enthusiastic guidance and support
for the Association over the years. I would like to
take this opportunity to sincerely thank the 12th to
14th Chairman Suen Fai Chuen, Alan for his selfless
dedication and efforts to leading the Association through
the hard times during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Over the coming two years, I will continue to lead
the members of the 15th Executive Committee to
uphold the inherited culture and spirit of the Association
and strengthen connections among members. We shall
organize various activities and government-funded
programmes to expand our business in Mainland China
and overseas, as well as strengthen our communications
and interactions with relevant government departments
in both Mainland China and Hong Kong to reflect the
needs of the industry. Through visits and exchanges
among members within the industry, we shall share
knowledge about the applications of new material,
technologies and machineries to improve production
efficiency and quality in our industry.
Strong Comeback after Pandemic Despite Difficulties
The COVID-19 pandemic has been raging around
the world for more than three years, bringing drastic
changes to traditional business modes and consumption
patterns. Amid the current global financial and economic
downturn, traditional industries must be revamped,
modernized, mechanized, automated and go smart to overcome global production and economic challenges.
In addition, due to political uncertainties, coupled
with the disruptively high aviation and shipping freight
previously as well as other factors such as tariffs,
the prices of most commodities have remained very
high, dragging down global purchasing power and
resulting in a serious lack of orders in the manufacturing
industry. We must leverage Mainland and overseas
resources to seek new opportunities for Hong Kong's
manufacturing industry. The Central Government, the
Guangdong Provincial Government and the Hong Kong
Government have been actively promoting interactions,
interconnections and mutual assistance between Hong
Kong and other cities in the Greater Bay Area to give
full play to their strengths, hoping to take advantage
of internal opportunities and bring new business
opportunities to the industry.
Caring and Giving Back to Society
With the current economic downturn in Hong Kong,
more “aged, young and the disadvantaged groups"
people in the society become in need of help. The
Association will arrange for members and their young
family members to volunteer for social services in
various districts, to teach youngsters to cherish, respect
and care for the others.
Association and Corporate Inheritance
Inheritance is an issue that any organization
must consider, so as the Association. Therefore, the
Association's Youth Department have been actively
cultivating the young generation of industrialists for
their strong sense of responsibilities, to provide the
Association with a steady stream of energetic and
capable successors with the suggestions of new ideas
and new directions.
Upholding the spirit of previous leaderships,
the new Executive Committee will open up a new
chapter for the Association's future based on its past
establishments.
Let's work together to achieve greatness with the enduring spirit of metal manufacturers.
